Welcome to Lantern
We’ve come a long way since the days when we financed cars. Back then it made sense we were called Motormile Finance (or MMF for short).
Over the past ten years we’ve helped over 2 million people clear their debt with us. We’re going to continue doing that – and doing it in the right way – as Lantern, our new company name.
Why the name ‘Lantern’?
We chose the name Lantern because we wanted a name that reflected our ambition to be more than simply a debt collector.
By treating customers right and helping them find a way of clearing their debt with us, our hope is this becomes a step towards a future which is that bit better and brighter.
And that’s what the name Lantern points to.
When is this change happening?
We are still operating as MMF today, but as of Thursday March 8th our public name will be Lantern and all communication with you will be as Lantern, and not MMF.
So what will actually change?
The usual stuff that you would expect with a change of this nature. There will be a new logo, a new website, a new look to our communications, and some further investment in our people and processes – to ensure we keep our customers at the heart of what we do.
What will happen to customers’ online accounts?
These will continue to operate as normal – with online customer accounts still accessible at the same address that they currently are (https://portal.mmile.com) and with existing account details (username and password) still accepted as they currently are.
Do I need to do anything as a result of this change?
Even though we will be communicating as Lantern from March 8th, in one sense this will not affect our customers. It will still be the same committed customer care team looking after them, and all our customers will be able to reach this team using our existing contact details.
What if I have unanswered questions about these changes?
If you are currently a customer or stakeholder with MMF, and have unanswered questions about the coming change, please feel free to get in touch and we will do our best to answer them.
